Research Description	I study the principles that underlie locomotion physiology and the application of these principles to the improvement of health. Current projects include elucidating the neuromechanical determinants of the elevated metabolic cost of gait after stroke, understanding the scaling of reflexes from shrews to elephants and developing a biomechanical energy harvester to power portable electronic devices.
